"If you want to enter a fab, what should you learn first?"
"How to teach yourself semiconductor technology?"
"If you want to do PIE or PE, what knowledge should I make?"
"If you are not from a professional background, how to "cross-border" into the semiconductor industry?"
"How can I improve myself after work?"

How to improve your abilities quickly:
1,Consolidate the basics
For process engineers, the most important basic skill is to be in harmony with the machine and process.

Although at first, it was just a few buttons to send the wafer to the next process;

Click a few times on the set menu to start the process and wait for the film;

A lot of times, you don't even know what the point of doing these actions is and you might wonder, "Am I just a senior operator?"

Doing these things repeatedly is not a waste of time, but a foundation for the next stage of theoretical learning.

I'm sure many engineers are in this state when they first start out in the industry:

I'm sure many engineers are in this state when they first start out in the industry;

I don't know what the role of the process I am responsible for in the whole process;

I don't know why the process menu is set this way, and no one tells you the meaning behind the parameters;

I don't know what value I can create in which link.

Every day, I mechanically run films, deal with exceptions, and write daily and weekly reports, and over time, I feel that I am no different from the operator.

But it doesn't matter, it really doesn't matter. This is only the first step in the journey of chips, and it is a "dark period" that every engineer must go through.

2,Improve the ability to solve real-world process problems

Take the initiative to participate in the daily process anomaly group meeting, although in most cases I don't know what the leaders are talking about. My previous practice was to print out the common types of anomalies, the corresponding pictures, the troubleshooting methods, and the final countermeasures, stick them on the dust-free book, and read and remember them repeatedly.

80% of production line problems are routine and recurring, so the sooner these "high-frequency problems" are clarified, some basic problems can be solved independently in the team.

3,Raise your theoretical level
The first step to improving your theoretical level is to understand the principle of the process you are responsible for;

What physical/chemical mechanisms are involved behind every process you do?

Which parameters are most sensitive to the results and why?

How the process setpoint is derived, and whether there is a physical or engineering basis?

The second step is to understand what other processes are doing;
The third step is to understand the process flow of the entire process.
Chip manufacturing is a highly coupled system engineering, and a process problem is often caused by the superposition of multiple links,Therefore, we must not have a headache and a sore foot, but must have a global view and systematic thinking.
The other is to link theory with practice: refuse to talk on paper. Some people like to read books, read papers, learn materials science, physical chemistry, but if they can't think about it in combination with practical process problems, they will end up just "knowledge porters".

The knowledge and experience gained from reading books are sometimes out of touch with reality. When encountering problems, it is necessary to integrate theory with practice and avoid utopian fantasies that are divorced from reality.
What are some ways to improve your theoretical knowledge?

Read the material with questions and don't read aimlessly.
1,Beginners can read domestic books, and use translation software to read foreign books after having a certain knowledge reserve to improve faster.
2,Read papers, such as CNKI, VIP, Reading Show, etc.
3,Research reports from investment institutions, this one is most suitable for beginners.

4,Exhibitions, seminars.
5,Watching videos is more intuitive and can understand scenes that cannot be expressed in words and pictures.
