On June 18, Silan Microelectronics' 8-inch SiC power device chip manufacturing production line project (Silan Jihong) officially started in Haicang District, Xiamen City. The total investment of the project is 12 billion yuan, which will be constructed in two phases, and after the completion of the two phases, it will form an annual production capacity of 720,000 pieces (60,000 pieces/month) of 8-inch SiC power device chips.
Among them, the first phase of the project has a total investment of 7 billion yuan, and is expected to achieve preliminary production by the end of the third quarter of 2025, trial production in the fourth quarter of 2025 and achieve the goal of producing 20,000 pieces; From 2026 to 2028, the production capacity will continue to ramp up, and eventually an annual production capacity of 420,000 8-inch SiC power device chips will be formed.

 

The 8-inch SiC manufacturing production line project of Silan Microelectronics is another major project layout after the two important projects of Silan Jike's "12-inch characteristic process chip production line" and Silan Minggallium's "advanced compound semiconductor device production line". After the completion of the project, it will better meet the demand for silicon carbide chips required by domestic new energy vehicles, and have the ability to provide high-performance silicon carbide chips to power inverter products such as photovoltaics, energy storage, and charging piles, and at the same time promote the coordinated development of domestic 8-inch silicon carbide substrates and related process equipment.
