Semiconductor thin films are prepared by mixing different semiconductor materials or semiconductor components in a certain proportion, and mainly include the following four components:
1. Elemental semiconductor thin films
Elemental semiconductor films are films prepared from a single semiconductor element, such as elemental silicon (Si) and elemental germanium (Ge). This kind of film has high carrier mobility and reaction speed, and is often used to make devices such as transistors and solar cells.
2. Alloy semiconductor thin film
Alloy semiconductor films are materials prepared by mixing two or more semiconductor materials. This kind of film has richer energy band structure and electronic energy levels, and can adjust the optoelectronic properties of devices, such as metal-semiconductor-metal photodetectors, quantum well lasers, etc.
3. Compound semiconductor thin film
Compound semiconductor films are semiconductor materials composed of two or more compounds containing different chemical elements, such as gallium nitride (GaN), indium phosphide (InP), etc. This film has good photoelectric properties and stability and is often used in the production of LEDs, lasers, solar cells and other products.
4. Depositing semiconductor thin films
A stacked semiconductor film is a film formed by stacking different types of semiconductor materials layer by layer. It can adjust characteristics such as lattice matching and interface reaction, and improve device performance, such as MOSFETs.
